For over 100 years, the NIU Huskie Band along with the Silverettes, Color Guard, Flags, Mascots, and Twirlers have wowed crowds all over the country with our music and performances. We've supported our school, athletics, and programs and have been an exciting part of NIU history. During our college days, we worked hard and were the heart and the "Pride of the Midwest". After graduation, we became Alumni to our great school.
As Alumni, we still embody all of the spirit and pride we had before but, we've lacked organization as a group. Now, the Alumni Band has a new home here at NIU. With the aid of the NIU Alumni Association, a group of band members spanning decades of the band have come together and helped form an Alumni Affinity group for the band. It's called the NIU Huskie Marching Band Alumni Council.
The Alumni Council works on behalf of all former members of the band to support the interests of the NIU Huskie Marching Band and advance the interests of Marching Band alumni.

After the game, you and your guests for the day are invited to attend the Alumni Band Afterglow party at the Elks Club in DeKalb for refreshments, socializing, and reminiscing with fellow band Alumni. The club is located on Annie Glidden Road just south of the railroad tracks (and the Bottle Store, Sgt. Pepper's, or Molly's depending on your era). A $10 cover charge for each adult and teen age 13 and older includes the private room, pizza, beer nuggets, and music from a local DJ. A cash bar is available. Kids age 12 and under are admitted free.
